This page explains the limited information used by Chemisode Games and the optional global leaderboards.
Playing without an account
The games do not require a Chemisode account and do not ask for an email address, real name, date of birth, school or precise location.
Global leaderboards
If a player chooses to submit a score, the score service stores the four-character arcade name selected by the player, the score, submission time and game-specific statistics used by that game. The service keeps each game’s leaderboard separate. Players are instructed not to use their real name. Choosing not to submit leaves the score off the global leaderboard.
Temporary security information
To reduce spam and fake scores, the score service temporarily stores one-way salted hashes associated with a browser game ID and network address. Raw network addresses are not stored in the game database. One-use game sessions and rate-limit records expire automatically.
On-device storage
Games may use browser local storage for settings, local best scores, career statistics, a four-character arcade name and a random game-client ID. These can be removed using the browser’s site-data controls.
Cloudflare Turnstile
Cloudflare Turnstile is used only when a player submits a global score. Cloudflare processes the verification under its own privacy terms.
Score removal
To request removal of a leaderboard score, email support@chemisode.com and include the game, four-character arcade name, approximate score and approximate submission date. Do not send passwords or unnecessary student information.
